A little help

Find your pixels.

8 bit art is a sticker pack inside Apple’s Messages app. There is no separate app window or editor on your home screen.

Open the sticker pack

  1. Install or update 8 bit art from the App Store.
  2. Open Messages on your iPhone or iPad and choose a conversation.
  3. On newer iOS and iPadOS versions, tap the plus (+) button beside the message field, then open Stickers. Look through your sticker apps for 8 bit art.
  4. On older supported versions, tap the Apps / App Store button beside the message field, then swipe through the app drawer to find 8 bit art. Use the More (…) menu if it is hidden.

The names and positions of these controls vary with your iOS or iPadOS version. If the pack is hidden, check the Messages app’s app-management or edit menu and enable 8 bit art.

Send it. Stick it.

To send a sticker: tap the design in the pack, then send it from the conversation if Messages asks you to confirm.

To place a sticker: touch and hold a sticker, drag it onto an existing message or photo, and release it. Use the controls provided by Messages to resize or rotate it where supported.

Animated designs play in supported Apple viewers. The version 1.2 collection includes a pulsing heart and blinking robot alongside static designs.

Something missing?

  • No home-screen icon: that is expected for this iMessage-only sticker pack. Open it from Messages.
  • The update is not available: check the App Store for your region and confirm that your device supports the version shown there. Version 1.2 requires iOS or iPadOS 15 or later.
  • The pack still does not appear: close and reopen Messages, check that 8 bit art is installed, and review the Messages app-management menu. Restarting your device may also help.
  • You see fewer stickers: the refreshed version 1.2 contains 46 designs. Check the version available to your device; older releases contain a smaller collection.

Privacy and purchases

The sticker pack works offline, contains no advertising or subscriptions, and does not require an account. Apple handles the download and the Messages service. Read our privacy policy for details.
